Call for Papers

Multimedia application continues to play an important role in our daily life. At this same time, the advance in VLSI technology allows us to design high-performance or inexpensive processors for various multimedia applications. This special session is devoted to discuss the new era of multimedia and processors. In particular, we would like to address some of the critical challenges in the deployment of processors for multimedia, or vice versa.

Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscript on topics including but not limited to:

  • Trends of multimedia applications that will influence the processor designs (including media processors, DSP, processors with special media acceleration, or multi-core processors)
  • Trends of processors that will influence the future media application design
  • Implementation and optimization of multimedia applications on processors
  • Design, implementation, and optimization of processors for future multimedia applications (including programmable cores for SoC)
  • Workload characterization of multimedia application
  • Static and dynamic reconfigureability in processors
  • Intelligent memory architectures for media applications
