Call for Papers

With the advent of digital TV (such as the North American ATSC-DTV) and rapid advances in digital displays (such as LCDs and DLPs), research efforts toward the development of 3-D TV have taken on a new zeal. This Special Session of “3-D TV: Primed for Success?” will provide the community an encouraging and concrete vision of the not-too-distance future of advanced television and home theatre. The goal is to establish a focus for discussion of the major research areas that are fundamental for the success of 3-D TV. Topics covered in this special session include but are not limited to::

  • Standard(s) for 3-D TV
  • Human factors for 3-D TV
  • 3-D TV capture
  • 3-D TV system/transmission
  • 3-D TV display
  • Content generation of 3-D TV
  • IBusiness models for 3-D TV
