Call for Papers

Healthcare IT is converging as a revolutionize application area of multimedia technologies. Instead of collecting data for diagnosis and clinical studies by hand, more and more health care data are now collected in digital multimedia formats through various sensors and audio/video channels. Many new challenges have been brought to multimedia research field for obtaining, storaging, processing, and content-based indexing and retrieval these healthcare multimedia data (HCMD). We propose this special session to bring researchers of multidisciplinary together to exchange novel ideas and technologies that support the daily health and enable more complete and accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. This special session addresses the interests of many academic and industry research groups. Main interesting topics include but are not limited to:

  • Smart home/public facility
  • Large scale and long-term health care media capturing, storaging, and communication
  • Multimedia processing, event exploiting and sharing
  • Activity/behavior analysis
  • HCMD analysis for perceptive aging
  • Proactive and ubiquitous health care
  • Privacy protection of HCMD
